Dr. Foster brings over 30 years of Sports Medicine experience to South West Health Spine and Sport. For five years he served as the Executive Director of Sports Medicine, Fitness, and Human Performance at the Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU).

At SCU, he oversaw all aspects of the Sports Medicine and Human Performance educational and clinical programs; including supervising and preparing resident physicians for extensive rotations with the USOC and National Athletic Teams.

He served as Team Doctor for eight high schools, three universities, one community college, and countless athletic events.

His educational background includes a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Southern California, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Chapman University, a Doctorate Degree in Chiropractic Medicine from the Southern California of Health Sciences, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Terminal Board Certification (Diplomate) from the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (ACBSP).

Dr. Foster’s patients include professional, amateur, and recreational athletes, however his true passion is providing Advanced Sports Medicine Care (diagnostics, progressions, rehabilitation, and physical medicine) to all patient populations especially non-athletic and geriatrics. Dr. Foster is a true believer in giving back to the community, he has worked with over thirty-three Orange County High Schools in developing practical and educational Sports Medicine Programs. Dr. Foster has been twice awarded the Best Original Research Abstract at the ACBSP Chiropractic Sports Sciences Symposium for combining his expertise in Sports Medicine and Education. He has been recognized for developing innovative educational programs at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels.

Currently, Dr. Foster serves the Orange County Department of Education full-time, developing county-wide Health Education curriculum, providing Athletic Health consultation, and overseeing several state-wide Health Initiatives. He has served on committees providing Health Recommendations to the California Superintendent of Schools and rewritten state-wide curriculum presenting required Health Standards using practical and innovative methodologies to increase student awareness, interaction, and retention.

Dr. Foster is actively involved in the sport of Powerlifting as a lifter, coach, referee, and medical director. His wife Cynthia is a certified public accountant and his daughter Nicolina graduated from Oregon State University (OSU) and is attending Veterinary School at Western University of Health Sciences.   He enjoys spending time with family, working out, hiking, gardening, cooking, attending USC Trojan and OSU Beaver Football Games, and spending as much time in the outdoors as possible!!
